I have just resolved to be an ANTI-HOARDER.
You have to agree with me when I say we all have a tendency to stay prepared for the APOCALYPSE when it comes to our refrigerators .
But the mantra I am following since the past week is “BUY THE BITE” so it basically means buying only what you are immediately going to bite into.
This stands for my vegetables and fruit shopping. All it takes is a bit of mental planning in advance on what you are going to put on the table. The exercise is simple, if it’s going to be bell peppers and tofu with some mashed potatoes you buy those ingredients only. The benefits I felt are colossal, to list a few.
- First it added an element of surprise to daily food, I did not feel stuck with the shopping of the week with all the grocery sleeping in my fridge waiting its turn to get executed.
- Second I loved walking down to my local grocery, it also added an extra 20 minute walking exercise to my regime.
- Third I could even make on the spur decision of adding a fresh leaf salad to the table because I came across a bunch of beautiful sprigs of rocket leaves !!!!!
- Fourth I realised the small things are the big things actually. How much happiness it brought me to do the chore inadvertently.
The herculean task of the Friday Haul to the supermarket and shop like a Serial Buyer !! I could easily make it so much more interesting and imaginative by breaking it down and entwining it to my daily routine effortlessly.
I am finding this whole exercise very therapeutic, it helps me break away from pattern and monotony of ROBO-SHOPPING.
There was a beautiful surprise waiting for me at the supermarket yesterday when I found my daughters favourite Magic Batter Mix in A new Multigrain Avatar !!
Life can be so much more if we let it happen. Let’s see what in Store today !!
So give it a try and leave your comments below. Let me know what surprise was waiting for you in the supermarket ;-) or add to my list of benefits of this regime.
